What Are Applied Texture Finishes.Applied texture covers a lot of territory. On a basic level, applied texture is just what it sounds like. A product applied to a surface to give it a 3 demensional textured surface. Apart from that, the range of textures, colors, appearances varies so much that it would be impossible to cover all possible variations, even more so when you include the possible choices of products to apply when doing a job. Products designed to duplicate stone, tile, stucco, plaster, marble, wood and brick are only the beginning of the possibilities open to decorators and homeowners. If you have an idea of what you want to duplicate, a photo or a sample of the look you desire in its original form, your installer can probably match it with one of todays products. If texture is not what you are looking for, you may want to consider a Faux finish instead. Faux finishes use paints and glazes to duplicated similar looks giving the illusion of depth and texture. Faux finishes can be very effective in areas where durability is not an issue. Both types of finishes have advantages and disadvantages that should be considered. Tobias Stucco and Spreadstone represent our applied finish products. |
